Abstract - Neri Oxman

Can we overcome the ecological crisis with design? Professor Neri Oxman of the MIT Media Lab is developing new materials that mimic nature.

I wanted to show Neri Oxman's bold personality with a magnificent flower in big bloom. Inspired by his designs inspired by nature and shaped by nature, I added drawings of natural-based beehive and cell structures. On top of the honeycombs is a glucose molecule, representing Neri's closeness to science. The organicity and structuralism that I am in the whole painting create an artistic unity. It carries the essence of different perspectives like a final product, which is the result of the interdisciplinary work that Neri cares about.
