In the film, Beane (Brad Pitt) and assistant general manager Peter Brand (Jonah Hill), faced with the franchise's limited budget for players, build a team of undervalued talent by taking a sophisticated sabermetric approach to scouting and analyzing players.


"Adapt or die."


“It’s about getting things down to one number. Using stats to reread them, we’ll find the value of players that nobody else can see. People are over looked for a variety of biased reasons and perceived flaws. Age, appearance, personality.”

In the middle and at the focal point, we see a yellow cup figure. Winning is very important to Billy and his team. We see the guidelines on the baseball field pointing to the trophy. In other words, there is a trophy that is desired to be won as the target in question. In the film, which reframes baseball using the analytics of numbers and data, the moneyball system established for recruiting and teaming players is framed as a silhouette, a profile representing the player to be selected. But this silhouette was born from data captured from many analyzes.
